When my sandals need to be replaced, I always get this brand! These Mephisto Shark sandals are very high-quality and durable. I have tried to “save money“ before, and bought less expensive sandals. However, I always had a “break-in“ period, where I would get sore feet, and sometimes blisters, before the sandals became comfortable. They would also wear out much faster. These sandals are comfortable right out of the box, and they last a long time. I wear my sandals all the time, as my only shoes, for physical reasons. I wear these sandals at church, or going out to eat, or whatever. I highly recommend them.These sandals are very comfortable from the start and require minimal break in. I had a pair of these that I wore for years. I sent then back to Mephisto twice to be refurbished. I held off buying another pair after the first ones died because I had retired and didn't want to spend the money. unfortunately I ended up buying other brands I wasn't happy with so I decided to go back to the Mephistos. They're pricey but worth it IMO.Good product, unfortunate seller location for US purchasersI bought the black at great price, and already have the brown. This is the most comfortable walking sandal there is. And the black looks great. Easy to put on and off.Ok so I thought I would take the plunge into some more high end sandals this summer especially after finding them for a great price (comparatively) here. I have been looking for something more comfortable and durable since being diagnosed with a morton's neuroma in one foot. Anyway, I like the build and feel of these. They are solid and the sole is quite rugged. Comfort is OK and they do seem to be molding to my feet fairly well, but they are are a bit heavy and I still have to give my feet a break at times. I've had them just a couple of weeks now so hopefully I'll have more to add later.Update: After wearing them nearly every day for a summer I still can hardly see any wear on them. they last very well. I am changing this to 5 stars.August 2018I have used these now every summer since I got them. At this point that is seven summers. They have been on beaches, long walks, even just around my yard for chores and barbecues. They have been hiking and shopping and have lasted so much longer than anything I could find before. I really have enjoyed them. Mine are just now starting to separate a little at the toe on one foot. It should be an easy fix, I hope so, because I will miss these. Everything else about these sandals is still solid and nearly as good as the day I got them. The tread, the leather (which I treat and clean regularly) and the buckles are all in great shape.This is now one of three pairs of Mephisto Sharks I have owned. Other sandal makes I have tried are much less comfortable, either because they cause the foot to sweat or because the friction between the shoe and the foot causes discomfort. These sandals solve both problems. They are highly adjustable, easy to get in or out of, and extremely durable (~10 years with intermittent summer use). The only limitation compared to some other makes is that they are not water-resistant (and should not be immersed in water).First, I absolutely love these sandals. I love Mephisto shoes. So comfy! They are luxurious on my feet. Fantastic comfort and quality. The buckle is easy to operate with one press. Other sandals I've had required two hands to release the buckles. They are just a little bit too big for me, but I tried the next size down and that was too small. If you can find half sizes, you might want to go half a size down. Bought these for an upcoming trip to Italy and have been breaking them in over the past two weeks.
