I run 4.5 miles every other day. I was using Mizuno's for years, but decided to change it up and try Brooks. I will say after running once with these shoes, they are great. I read many reviews before purchasing them and I was a little worried about the size, as many have said it runs a size too small. I was skeptical about this, so decided to order my regular size and if for some reason they didn't fit, I was just going to return them and re-order a size bigger. It turns out, these shoes fit me perfect. I don't understand what people mean when they say they run a size too small. If you believe that then you must not know what your regular size is. These fit perfect on my trial run. They actually fit like a glove and my toes were NOT jammed in the front. It was a perfect fit. The first thing I noticed is how light they were. It almost felt like I had nothing on my feet. The cushioning in my opinion is just right. They aren't overly cushioned, but rather seem just right. I did notice it seemed like the rebound after contacting the ground with my heel seemed to help propel me forward a little bit, as if they were providing a helpful transfer of energy. These are great shoes and this comes from somebody who has been running for about 24 years. One thing I did notice when I ran was the traction could be a little better. It had rained a few hour before my run and the trail I was running on was a little wet and somewhat slick, especially in shady areas. I could tell when the shoe made contact, I wasn't getting the best traction and felt there was a possibility I could slip if I wasn't careful to run "sure footed." Other than that, I love these shoes. I hardly ever run when it rains anyway, so it's not really a big deal. Maybe Brooks wanted to use a harder rubber on the tread of these shoes to create less friction with the pavement when running because a shoe that's grippier creates more resistance and is harder to run with.I’m 6’ tall & 290- the heaviest I’ve ever been. Whilst in the midst of getting back into healthy better safer shape & for the last year or two, whenever I shop around/browse for sneakers, I REALLY take my time, looking for the absolute best pairs for easier walking, & my knee/back pain, I’ve had to read many, many reviews, read ALL of the descriptions & specs, & take notes and compare etc. I chose size 12 Black color of these ‘Revels’, out of 6 diff pairs of Brooks that I was watching. So w/ all of the legwork I put in, & of course a bit of good luck, I chose so wisely. I’ve been wearing for about 6 weeks at least 5 days/weekly. For all day “out & about” purposes/walking/to the golf range, etc. I honestly don’t have any ‘cons’ to write about these. Like ALL sneakers throughout my 40+ years, in a state of “brand newness” they’re a bit stiff and firm, & upon my first wearing, (I am Flat-footed), I noticed the little arch-bump that ya might feel in most new sneakers, —after wearing around the house on/off for 2 days, it totally broke in. So all you flat-foots, no worries at all. These sneakers really break-in, & get more and more comfy w/ each new day. Not days or weeks, but in just a few mere days, I was so thrilled that I chose this pair. The aesthetic is pleasing, and the build quality is maybe the best I’ve ever purchased. They’re in fact my first ever pair of Brooks. Over my adult life, I’ve always worn New Balance mostly, occasional ASICS & Saucony. I still think they’re all terrific, but I’m looking forward to sticking w/ Brooks for the foreseeable future. What w/ they’re rep for quality durability & comfort, and my new attesting to the fact, it’s a no-brainer. So, like me if you’ve never had Brooks, I say- DEFINATELY, go for it. Plus most purchases are returnable, really you’ve nothing to lose. These are great. I bought these on sale to keep for when my current pair of Brooks Launch become worn out (next year some time) and become my errand-running and elliptical shoes. I wasn’t sure if this new model would be as good as the Launch, but I figured I’d give them a try. Turns out they are great.Fit: I wear 8.5 or 9 medium in dress and casual shoes. I bought a 9.5 in these per usual with trainers and they fit perfectly. The midfoot design is excellent, works like a support saddle to really secure my arches.Support and Cushion: Solid and sturdy with lots of arch support. I use orthotic inserts in all my shoes and they fit in these very nicely. The stock insole is easy to remove and replace.Breathability: Excellent due to a woven mesh upper.Durability: Don’t know yet but I typically get a couple years from a pair of Brooks and then an extra year as a spare pair for yard etc.Construction: Appears solid.Price: Very good on sale. Full price on these is reasonable for the quality.Overall: 5 stars, great shoes for running or gym use. Brooks has become my favorite brand of athletic shoe, surpassing any other kind I have tried in comfort and support as well as fit.Runs a but large and I had to overcome some blisters when i started since they are higher on the ankle than most shoes o have worn in the past. That being said, they are insanely comfortable in the soles and good support on the arches. They do wear around the edge of the ankle quickly, but I will buy another pair without a doubt. If you are on your feet for extended periods, these are the shoes for you!I love how well these Brooks have held up. I go through running shoes pretty quickly and Brooks have outlasted my Nike and Asics by a long shot. The downside might also be the reason they are so durable, the sole of the shoe has very poor traction on wet surfaces. You have to be careful when it is slick out. On pavement they are fine, but if the pavement is painted or on a metal surface, it can be unsettling.High arch support helped with my Plantar Fasciitis condition, the pain is almost halved compared to how it was before wearing these shoes.I bought these trainers for casual wear rather than running. I have the Brooks Ghost 10 for running and they are great. These Revels are really light and felt so comfy as soon as I put them on. Really pleased with them and would definitely recommend!I’ve bought two pairs of these different colours my husband has wide feet and said this is extremely comfortable and they give good supportabsolutely love these. could not recommend enough. perfectOn my second pair, great for walking.
