Finally, I have found the perfect socks to wear with shorts. The vast majority of mini-crew / ankle length socks are considered "sport" socks and are designed for wearing during relatively brief periods of sports activities. They all have a tight elastic band at the top to keep them up during sports. They are not intended to be worn all day during normal activities. The elastic top band effectively acts like a tourniquet; definitely something you don't want applied all day.Goldtoe has created an alternative to the sport sock that is designed for all day wear. They are the absolute best socks I have ever owned. I'm so glad I found them.Elastic is very loose. The socks did not stay on during the first wear.While soft, they stretch out and slowly slide off your feet because they are so smooth.They feel great at first until they begin to bunch up in your shoes.They are too loose for aggressive walking.I needed a sock that wouldn't fit tight around my foot because the top of foot had been irritated for weeks and this sock made a difference so my foot could heal. The socks were very soft and felt perfect. ThevNot very tight or taunt very loose fitting and don't secure tight. They feel like they are 5 years old already. I expected more from Gold Toe.Why are women's socks so expensive. I have bought these socks for years because they are just so much more comfortable than what I can find in the women's department at about half the price.I have diabetes and these are the socks I was searching for. Non-Bindingno elasticity in the ankle so socks slide down. They are soft though.Very comfortable and soft!
