Good for the moneyThese socks aren’t too tight and they keep the feet warm even when wet. This is my second time ordering them.Excellent wicking and cooling despite being wool. Best socks I have ever had.I bought these to replace my 6+ year old Omniwool socks, which I love, so this review directly compares them.I've had the Kavanyiso socks for over a year now and they are still holding up well with no rips, tears, threads coming undone or any other problems. They are consistent thickness throughout. Overall I'd say their build quality is on par with Omniwool.Comfort is another matter. I have two minor problems with the Kavanyiso that put them a star below the Omniwool in my book. First, the elastic in the upper section is lacking and I find myself pulling these socks back up much more frequently than I ever did the omniwool. A little more stretchy in the leg area would solve this. Second is the warmth/sweat wicking ability. While the Kavanyiso socks are far superior to cheap thick cotton socks, I find they make my feet sweat sooner and/or wick it worse than the Omniwools. Whichever is the cause, it leaves my foot sweatier and less comfortable than the Omniwool. So would I buy these again? Probably not, mostly for the sweatier foot problem and because I can afford the extra price for the Omniwool these days, but if you want to save some money, and you don't mind the extra warmth (or maybe even want it) then these really are good socks and I do recommend them.Notes on my usage: In hiking boots for frequent camping and hiking with scouts, inside my work boots for projects around the farm, and also inside my motorcycle boots for long distance riding.I picked these up for a two day mountain hike in the winter last year. They were warm but not tight enough in my shoes and rubbed my feet to the point that they were making me need moleskin much sooner than usual, they also shed on the inside alot more than other wool socks and contributed to friction. I'm calling them out on this because they are advertised as being for hiking, I do not agree. However, for general use cold season socks or lounging at home with slippers, they work well and cost effective for that and that's it's saving grace for why I didn't leave less stars. Durability send decent as I'll often wear them walking around the house and no holes yet. These go on and feel soft as silk. Haven't had them long enough to know how they will hold up but so far am happy with the purchase.Work well in cold or average weather conditionsEver since I first saw these socks, I've been searching for the exact same thing. These are the kind of socks that say they're made with a soft and stretchy heel tab, and they're also incredibly comfortable. Even though they may shrink a bit after washing, they'll still fit most people. I'm currently on my feet most of the time, and these will probably help cushion the hard floor that I'm working on. super warm and comfy
